Willowbrook Community Garden

For the Residents of Willowbrook, and
Their Extension to the Greater Community

Our Friendship Garden

NOTE:  This page is under construction, and may be published, pending the decision of the neighbors that are organizing the Willowbrook Community Garden.

In partnership with Friendship Gardens, a group of Willowbrook residents have organized to construct, tend, and harvest a garden in our neighborhood. Friendship Gardens describe themselves as follows, in their website.

"Friendship Gardens is an expanding network of community, school, faith-based, institutional, public, private, and backyard gardens. Most of our garden partnerships share their harvest for the benefit of Friendship Trays who provide over 750 meals a day to members of our community who have limited access to healthy food."

Please go to http://www.friendship-gardens.org for more information.

We're excited to see this endeavor grow over the coming months. Please contact Theresa if you would like to participate.

Ground Breaking

_April 13, 2014

The proposed area was checked for underground utilities, and with the 'all clear', our band of volunteers went to work.   Kids joined in with the adults to break ground for the Willowbrook Community Garden on April 11, 2014. Soil preparation continues as we move into Spring Break, but progress so far indicates that planting will begin any day. Good job, everyone!
